This page is all about fares & tickets on buses and trains - I haven’t included taxis as I don’t
know anything about the fare structure for Hackney Carriage type vehicles, and for the
Private Hire type, you simply agree the fare before you get into the vehicle.
On both buses and trains, all manner of ticket types are available from singles and returns
to Weekly, Monthly or Yearly tickets. Daily unlimited tickets are also available, usually
covering a set area.
As you’ll probably notice from the red box above, I don’t have much info at the moment, but
here are some of the types we had when I drove buses in the Thurrock area (1997 - 2001):
